Speaker Meeting 11th Apriil 2016
Amy Simcox - Derby Museums

The Rotary Club of Church Wilne welcomed Amy Simcox to the recent speaker evening. Amy gave an inspiring presentation on Derby Museums and reminded us of what wonderful museums we have in Derby. New for 2016, is the chance to enjoy Super Saturdays, during the first Saturday of the month the whole family can follow a trail around the three Museum sites and take part in the extra special activities along the way. These have been designed and built with support from the public and local craftsmen.

In the heart of the city there is "The Museum and Art Gallery" itself, an excellent venue to enjoy the paintings of Joseph Wright of Derby and have afternoon tea with friends, "The Silk Mill" stands on the site of the first factory and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its central and attractive riverside location make it ideal for celebrations and parties, it has a capacity of 250. "Pickford's House" is a stunning town house and garden, it is perfect for an intimate family party or corporate dinner.

There is an every changing program of events at all three locations.
