New President Simon Beal with Immediate Past President Tony Beenham

On Monday 27th June the Church Wilne Rotary Club enjoyed the clubs annual changeover meeting as each year many of the officers take up new challenges and responsibilities.

Current President Tony Beenham said it had been an amazing year for him and Paula and it had gone by so quickly. He hoped the Rotarians had enjoyed it as much as he had.

Tony gave an overview of just some of the events since taking office 12 months ago and these included the Bike Ride from Denmark to Paris last July along with many members of Danish Rotary Clubs, meet the Presidents event, many curry nights, the charity horse ride, district conference, Christmas float, church service and the snow ball. More recently the club's 31st charter anniversary, OAP party and the twinning visit from the Rotary Club of Hinnerup.

The club's PR team were congratulated as were the club's representatives on the District Team as Assistant Governors. The members did well in the district quiz and 10 pin Bowls.

At the District handover on Sunday 26th June the club were awarded the District Community Service trophy for the many community activities which included the charity horse ride, 1400k cycle ride in 8 days from Denmark to Paris and the OAP party.

Tony thanked Paula for her support throughout the year and the wonderful continued support by all the members of the Rotary Club of Church Wilne.

Following this Tony presented incoming President Simon Beal with his chain of office who then welcomed his administration team for the year as follows: Adrian Perkins – President elect for 2017/18, 2018/19 joint Presidents Andy Cartwright and Chris Tew, Secretary Mick White and Treasurer Graham Knowles.

Incoming President Simon said "I am looking forward to the year and serving the club. It is my time to give something back to the Church Wilne Rotary Club and I am looking forward to it".
