Speaker Meeting 24th April 2017

David Down and the Dastardley Difficult Quiz

The Rotary Club of Church Wilne recently held a quiz after its weekly dinner meeting. It was most 'demanding' but thoroughly enjoyable.

Numerous topics were covered by the Quiz Master, David Down, in his own inimitable way. The members did their utmost to answer correctly and occaionally succeeded!

As David knows, the quiz master is always right.

Many Varied topics were in the quiz - all difficult to the members.

We now look forward to the forthcoming Senior Citizen's Tea Party on Saturday 6th May at Spondon Village Hall. The party is organised in collaboration with Borrowbrook Home link. Money from our local fundraising events are used to provide, food, drink, entertainment and transport to and from the venue. Just one of the examples of spending funds in the local community.

Borrowbrook Home Link (www.borrowbrook.borrowash.com), for Ockbrook and Borrowash Senior Citizens, offers a regular visiting service to those in the community who may feel isolated. A monthly community lunch scheme provides the opportunity for people to get together with others living nearby and share a roast dinner. Monthly "Tea Dances" are held during the winter months. To get in touch please telephone 01332 280111.

Borrowbrook Home Link in action.
