Members of Church Wilne Rotary visit the BBC East Midlands Today and BBC Radio Nottingham Studios
16th February 2017

On Thursday evening 16th February, members of the Church Wilne Rotary club were welcomed by Jo Davies of the BBC at their Nottingham Studios

Jo gave an introduction of the workings within both the BBC East Midlands Today TV and Radio Nottingham and then they were given a walking tour of the studios

This included meeting many of the staff and seeing the radio presenter in action. Then they saw part of the live East Midlands Today programme that goes out each day from 6.30 to 7.00pm. Jo explained just how important the weather forecast was to the programme as the presenter may get up to 3 minutes or just less than a minute as the programme must finish exactly on time. The presenter does not have an auto-cue but must work from timing instructions via the headphone which counts down to the finish required.

Jo was thanked by Rotarian Ken Austin for a most informative tour and he said we all look forward to listening her future radio programmes that are broadcast each Saturday and Sunday.
