Church Wilne Rotary Summer Walk

Tuesday, no in fact due to weather considerations, Wednesday June 7th
A longer walk in Leicestershire

The Stilton Cheese, Somerby is a great pub and apparently always have two guest beers and indeed a very good balanced meal menu, which is good value for money. We tasted the guest beers and the nosh and can recommend to all a trip just south of Melton Mowbray. It's a lovely little village as also are all the villages en route.

Oh yes, the walk almost forgot about that. We started at the above venue car park walking in a clockwise direction. It was over eight miles (ask John Cox) and well worth the effort with a very interesting iron age fort en route. Luckily we had stable weather conditions, a little blustery but no rain. Tuesday was that horrific windy and also very wet day.

If people are seriously interested in a 2018 Summer Walk we can organise one on a Saturday to help those still propping up the country. Please keep in touch with ideas as happy to walk any suitable route short or long(ish). Any ideas?

Yes, of course, we are still doing a family Christmas walk on Wednesday December 27th

The walk was based on a walk posted by Mike Brockhurst on his Walking Englishman website.

Did anyone tell John there would be hills?

Peter approaching an interesting looking building in the trees

The church is revealed and the next waymark noted.
