Buddy gets 'Holy'!

A Buddy Holly Concert – in aid of St Mary's Church, Draycott

The Cast of 'Buddy' and Church Wilne Rotary Club joined forces again recently to raise over £2,400 for St. Mary's Church in Draycott.

'Amici Productions' an amateur group performed 'Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story' at the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton last September, which was so successful, raising over £10.000 for good causes, that they were asked to reprise the show again for the church. The event was a sell-out with over 200 Tickets sold.

Rev Gary Dundas, who is also a Rotarian, said "It was a complete joy to see the church filled to capacity with people dancing, singing and having a good time. This is what the church should be all about. I only wish I had them in my congregation on a Sunday morning!"

Rob Holsnam who played "Buddy", thanked Church Wilne Rotary club for inviting them to relive the show again for such a good cause. The Church needs £70,000 to complete their restoration work.
