JCB Factory Visit

JCB VIP Visitor Centre, Rocester, Uttoxeter
24th May 2018

Church Wilne Rotary paid a visit to the JCB Factory at Rocester, Uttoxeter to undertake an afternoon Tour of the factory.

In the words of Lord Anthony Bamford, the son of the founder "Since JCB began in 1945, we have always been driven by innovation and that is the very core of THE JCB STORY. It is a unique story of constant investment in our 22 plants on four continents, to become one of the worlds largest manufacturing companies".

The group of Rotarians on the trip certainly saw this in action led by two highly knowledgable and competent guides, Allan and David. We enjoyed an introductory DVD, followed by a tour of the exhibition of the JCB Story from its inception through to the present day and then a walk through the factory view the entire production process.

At the JCB Story Exhibition.

The scale of the process is incredible with amazing attention to detail, quality control, constant innovation and a world leading finished product which comes in all shapes and sizes to suit the customers requirements.

The group were certainly given an impressive insight into what makes a leading British manufacturing business. The afternoon was rounded off with an excellent cream tea in the visitors dining room as you can see from the picture below

The main reason for the visit - an excellent cream tea.
