Paul, a former Biology teacher, felt unwell at the age of 24 and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes which he believes may have been triggered by Glandular Fever. Paul explained to members the two different types of Diabetes (1 and 2) and the complications that go with it. 3.8 million people in the UK have diabetes An Estimated 500,000 people are diagnosed and 150,000 are undiagnosed. Paul highlighted that people could really help themselves by cutting down the risk of Type 2 Diabetes by Eating Well, Regular Exercise Etc. Information leaflets were available for members to take away. More information and the shop can be found on the Diabetes UK website at:
