The winner of the 2018 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress was Molly Windsor for her role in the BBC programme "Three Girls" and the Church Wilne Rotary Club members were delighted to welcome her to its meeting on 18 November.

Molly began to attract critical acclaim at the age of 11 in the 2009 Channel 4 TV film "The Unloved" but it was for her portrayal as the 14 year old girl victim, Holly Win-shaw, in the 2017 three part BBC TV series "Three Girls", which earned her the prestigious BAFTA Award.

The story was told from the viewpoint of three of the young victims who were groomed and abused by the gang members of the Rochdale Child Sex Abuse Ring.

As a result of the work she undertook in researching the horrific reality for Child Sexual Exploitation victims, Molly is a Supporter of Safe and Sound Derby, a charity which helps children and young people in Derbyshire in desperate need of help from sexual exploitation: https://safeandsoundgroup.org.uk.

The charity has received publicity through the Film and TV industry following the success of "Three Girls" and Molly has raised a considerable amount of money to support the charity's work through sponsorship and donations.

After Molly's very moving talk the Club made a donation of £250 to Safe and Sound Derby.

Church Wilne Rotary is keen to attract new members through various initiatives, associate membership, satellite clubs and Friends of Rotary, where people can help in the running of some of our events to get a taste of what it would be like to join our club.
