HANSEL & GRETEL FAMILY PANTO : 14^th December

Church Wilne Rotary booked and paid £1,170 for all 180 seats for a family pantomime performance of Hansel & Gretel at the Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton in the afternoon of 14^th December. The Club distributed all the tickets to families in the Borrowash, Draycott and Breaston areas after receiving help from local primary schools and local charity organisations.

Rotarian Adrian Perkins stated "The performance was paid for with monies collected last year on the streets with our Santa float". He also said "It was lovely to see so many happy faces of children that wouldn't necessarily get to see a Panto at Christmas".

NINE LESSONS AND CAROLS SERVICE : 14^th December

A Nine Lessons and Carol Service was held at St Chad's Church, Wilne on 14^th December. The Service was taken by Revd Gary Dundas, a member of the Rotary Club. The 9 lessons were read by Church Wilne Rotary and Inner Wheel Club members and the 9 carols were all traditional ones chosen by Club members. The congregation was served with mulled wine and mince pies before the service to encourage hearty rendering of the 9 carols.

DRAYCOTT GROUP 'TEA WITH FRIENDS'
TRIP TO WORCESTER VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS MARKET

The Rotary Club sponsored the cost of the coach for the Draycott Group, 'Tea with Friends', for their trip to Worcester for the Victorian Christmas Market. 32 persons enjoyed the trip and they were waved off by Club member Gary Dundas who also took the photgraph.

Church Wilne Rotary is keen to attract new members through various initiatives, associate membership, satellite clubs and Friends of Rotary, where people can help in the running of some of our events to get a taste of what it would be like to join our club.
