The Rotary Club of Church Wilne welcomed PC John Aldred to its recent speaker evening. He gave a fascinating talk on the initiatives taken by the team to protect us. Details of which can be found at: https://www.derbyshire.police.uk/FollowYourSNT.

We learnt about his long career spanning times working in Normanton and Long Eaton. We are fortunate to have PC Aldred in our area, he has received three bravery awards, preventing a suicide on the A50, rescuing a senior citizen from drowning and helping people evacuate during the Whaley Bridge Dam Collapse.

We learnt about the equipment police have to protect the public, the personal experiences gained over the years and it was great to meet the person behind the image. Lots of questions were asked and lively discussion held. Great to know the SNT are working hard to improve the areas we live in.
