The Rotary Club of Church Wilne welcomed Tim Spalding Team Member Derby Mountain Rescue (DMR) to its recent speaker evening. https://www.derbymrt.org.uk/

He presented a film, showing how a wide range of volunteers, coming from all different walks of life, give up their time to provide help and support to people when they are often in their greatest need, through DMR. Which was originally founded in response to death of three scouts in 1964, who were attempting the Four Inns Walk, to this day DMR continue to support the annual walk.

They have 60 members and are currently recruiting 12 more people. All are volunteers, running the three vehicles including the "Team Command Centre", training the team and maintaining the base is all funded by donations. It takes 18 months for volunteers to be trained and awarded the coveted Red Jacket.

We are very grateful to DMR who support our annual horse ride event, by providing the first aid support. We certainly are in safe hands.
