On Monday 11^th April, Church Wilne Rotary, its Satellite, Inner Wheel and guests, were treated to an insightful and at times, very emotive presentation by Luke Wigman, Athlete, Inspirational Speaker and Ex RAF Regiment.

During his second tour of Afghanistan, operating around Sangin, a particularly hostile region, Luke`s luck was about to change. Whilst on patrol, mentoring a section of Afghan troops, an IED (improvised explosive device) was activated, setting off a deafening explosion. As the dust settled, the realisation started to sink in, he had stepped on the hidden device that was about to bring his RAF career to an end.

Luke was thanked by all present for his truly inspirational presentation and a cheque was presented for £500 for his chosen charity, Flying For Freedom.
