Church Wilne Rotary recently welcomed three generations of the Massie family to its speaker meeting, Mike, Richard, & Olly.

Olly is due to go to the 25th World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, on the 1^st August 2023.

He is one of only 6 to be selected from our area. He gave a fascinating talk on his preparations. We never realised so much was involved. Olly has been busy preparing for the trip. It costs £3,495 to attend, the money is used to subsidise attendance of scouts from poorer countries. He has to raise all the money through fund raising events, large and small. So far this has included, with Long Eaton Scouts supporting local carnivals & the duck race, with Sandiacre Scouts, running school tuck shops, afternoon teas, not to mention over 10 summer fairs, where we have seen the "play you cards right" game. As individuals: Ockbrook Bonfire hot drinks & popcorn, making wooden articles and sporting sweepstakes. We wish Olly all the best during his ongoing fund raising events and look forward to his return from the Jamboree and what we are sure will be a wonderful update.
