The Church Wilne Rotary recently welcomed Ellie Perry to its speaker evening. What a treat, we were taken through Ellie's life over the last three years. During her Physical Geography degree course at Hull University, she had the opportunity to study for a year at California State University Sacramento.

Getting used to their culture, three and a half hour long football games, cheer leaders, marching bands, living in a "Dorm" with 4 girls from California, studying California's diverse geography and specialising in Climate Change and the ways of protecting ourselves from changing weather patterns.

Covid interrupted her studies, with the move to online learning and the need to leave the university campus. She returned to Hull University to complete her 4 year degree. Ellie triumphed gaining a first class honours degree. She now works with a local company and supports the Environment Agency, specialising in our defences against flooding, from local rivers. Thanks Ellie.
